Snooker Champion Not Coping After Being Beaten by Dribbler

The highly competitive world of Snooker has delivered a truly unique scandal and exposed a former world champion as one of the all-time great sore losers. In the first round of the UK Snooker Championship, 2008 winner Shaun Murphy faced amateur competitor Si Jiahui in what was tipped to be a walkover for the Englishman.
In a shock defeat, Murphy was beaten 6-5 (DYOR how snooker scoring works) and proceeded to go on a passionate rant slandering the tournament for allowing in amateur competitors. “I feel extremely hard done by that I have lost to someone who shouldn’t even be in the building. I don’t know why we as a sport allow amateurs to compete in professional tournaments.”
From the start of the match, it was hard to tell who was the professional and who was the amateur, with Si taking a commanding 5-1 lead that no doubt would have triggered a tidal wave of head noise for Murphy. Instead of channeling that energy towards winning, he decided to wait until the end of the game, and dish up a tantrum the likes of which are rarely seen in professional sport.
“It is wrong, in my opinion, to walk into somebody who is not playing with the same pressures and concerns I am. He played like a man who does not have a care in the world, because he does not have a care in the world. It is not fair, it is not right… This is our livelihood. This is how I put food on the table. This is how I earn money”
Here’s a hot tip Shaun, if you’re being towelled up by random blokes in the first round of tournaments, maybe you’re not so professional after all, and you might want to find a second job if you want to keep putting food on the table. Perhaps you could choose a sport that isn’t available to any half-drunk dribbler stumbling through a pub, or maybe even fall back into the amateur leagues and hustle patrons at the local RSL.
One thing’s for sure, it seems like Shaun’s time in the professional arena is drawing to a close, with the now infamous tantrum tyrant becoming self-aware about how his rant will be received. “I am going to sound like a grumpy old man but that young man shouldn’t be in the tournament.”
Hate to break it to you Shaun, but you absolutely do sound like an old man, and if “that young man” can make light work of you, he’s got just as much right to be in that tournament as anyone else.
